Summer research opportunity for TCOM students- MSTAR: Medical Student Training in Aging Research

The TCOM Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) program is currently accepting applications for Summer 2025.

The MSTAR program is a summer research opportunity that provides TCOM students (entering Year-II) an educational experience in aging-related research under the guidance of top experts in geriatrics and aging. Students participating in MSTAR gain an early introduction to research and academic experiences that they might not otherwise have during medical school. Students participate in research didactics, clinical shadowing in outpatient settings, community events, and have the opportunity to submit and present their work at a local, state, or national professional conference. This is a unique opportunity for early exposure to research and clinical experiences that strengthen the residency application.

The MSTAR program is provided through the TCOM Department of Internal Medicine & Geriatrics. If you have any questions or need guidance with the application, please contact Dr. Jennifer Severance at Jennifer.Severance@unthsc.edu or Dr. Sarah Ross, at Sarahe.Ross@unthsc.edu.

The deadline to apply is midnight February 2, 2025.
