Summer research opportunity for TCOM students- Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) Application Now Available

The TCOM Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) program is currently accepting applications for Summer 2023.

The MSTAR program is a 6-week educational experience in aging-related research with the guidance of top experts in geriatrics and aging. Students will be introduced to research and academic experiences early in their training that they might not otherwise have during medical school. Research projects are offered in clinical, basic, translational, or health services research relevant to older adults. Students participate in research didactics and clinical shadowing in outpatient settings and have the opportunity to submit and present their work at a local, state, or national professional conference. This is a unique opportunity for early exposure to research and clinical experiences that strengthen the residency application.

Students will have the opportunity to submit their research to a professional conference, and – if accepted – are provided a travel stipend.
