Seeking GSBS graduate students (traditional program MS and/or PhD) interested in Pharmacology & Neuroscience research opportunities

The Schetz laboratory is interested in advancing knowledge and addressing societal needs by solving problems and answering questions of relevance to medicine and the environment. Innovation and mechanistic approaches guide our research efforts related to neuropharmacology and eco-friendly biotechnologies. The current focus is on discovery and development of novel therapeutics and disease prevention agents. Immediate research opportunities are available focusing on 1) development of a new generation of insect repellents to prevent the spread of vector-borne infectious diseases including Zika, Dengue and Chikunguya, 2) treatments for preventing or slowing the progression of neurodegenerative disease and promoting recovery from brain injuries.
