Register by July 1 for discount: Conference on gardening and food justice

The annual Dig Deep conference will bring experts in backyard gardening, community gardening and urban farming to our campus on July 16, as a result of our Community Garden’s partnership with Tarrant Area Food Bank.

Whether you’re a beginning or experienced gardener, or a community garden leader, you’ll find advice and inspiration from more than a dozen presenters.

Topics range from "How to Start a Community Garden" by UNTHSC Sustainability Coordinator Sandy Bauman, to "Food Justice and Community Food Systems," by TCU Prof. Dave Aftandilian, to beginner basics such as "Composting 101" by Larry Wilhelm, founder of the Organic Recycling Institute.

Register by July 1 at the early bird price of $20, including light breakfast and lunch. After July 1, the cost is $25.
