Gregory R. Anderson, Executive Vice President for Finance and Operations, sent this message to HSC faculty and staff on March 19, 2020:
As you all are aware, the COVID 19 outbreak has changed the way we have been providing education, patient care and other services. These changes come at a cost that was not budgeted for in FY 2020. As a team, we need to be diligent in providing better ways to serve during this time. Associated with that is the need to be good stewards of HSC resources.
Accordingly, effective immediately, please only make purchases which are essential for your operations. If you have questions as to what is considered essential please contact your supervisor. By only making purchases for critical needs, this will allow better flexibility in providing dollars for new strategic needs in this changing environment.
