UNT System Administration sent this email to all team members on Jan. 7, 2010:

Please plan for a significant IT service outage beginning on Saturday, January 18 at 8pm, while critical updates are made to the ITSS Central Data Center. All impacted services will be restored and available for use by noon on Sunday, January 19.

Please note that this outage will affect students, faculty and staff at UNT, UNT Dallas, UNT Health Science Center and UNT System Administration.

IMPACTED RESOURCES AND SERVICES:
• Office 365 (Email)
• PeopleSoft (Campus Solutions, Finance, Human Capital Management)
• ServiceNow
• Budget Systems
• Insights – Analytics
• Web Systems
• Departmental/Shared File Servers
• Imaging Systems
• Student, Recruitment, Advising and Academic Systems
• Phone Systems
• Library Systems
• High Performance Computing Systems
• All IT servers and services managed by Administrative IT (AIT) and University IT (UIT) Services including Medical Records/X-Ray/LIS systems, Housing, and various IT services at different colleges and departments across the system. Also included are various IT systems that may not be specifically listed above.

During this outage, UNT System IT Shared Services, in coordination with UNT System Facilities and Campus IT Services, will be installing new cooling units at our central data center to meet demands for the center’s regular operation. The installation will require a full electrical and service outage of the data center’s infrastructure.
