Search update — Vice President for Research

President Michael Williams sent this email to all team members on Aug. 22, 2019:

Team,

As you know, a national search for a Vice President for Research has been underway since February. I sincerely appreciate the hard work of our search committee led by Dr. Dennis Thombs, and everyone who attended the candidate forums and offered input.

The search process identified a top candidate, who was offered the position and initially accepted it. However, a family issue arose that led the candidate to decline the position a short time later.  We are disappointed but understand that family must come first.

I have asked Dr. Brian Gladue to continue his leadership as Acting Vice President for Research through October 31, 2019.   At that point, we will reassess the best way to proceed with our search for a permanent VPR.

Again, my appreciation to all the team members who participated in this important search process. We will keep you updated.

Mike

Dr. Michael R. Williams
