Pharmacy Diversity Fair

As part of their semester long Pharmacy Management course during their 3rd year of pharmacy school, students from the UNT System College of Pharmacy must come together to plan and execute a class project. The instructor of the course, Dr. George, leaves the project and its direction entirely up to the students in order to provide students the experience of handling the many components involved in managing a business. For instance, the students have already incorporated business plans, management structures, and strategic planning into their current class project.

This year, the UNTSCP Class of 2021 pharmacy students moved forward with a two part class project – a Halloween themed movie night and a pharmacy school focused diversity fair open to UNTHSC students, faculty, and invited guests.

The Halloween themed movie night provided an opportunity for students to destress and featured a showing of “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Concession and ticket sales from the movie night were contributed towards the costs of the diversity fair.

The diversity fair will showcase the diversity of the student body and faculty at the UNT System College of Pharmacy and will feature cultural booths, a cultural trivia game, maps of student and faculty origins, infographics of collected data from the school, prizes, food, and international music. Pharmacy students who wish to host a host a booth at the diversity fair should contact Sanjida Hoque (sanjida.hoque@my.unthsc.edu) to sign up. The diversity fair event is free to all attendees and will be held on Wednesday, November 20th from 11am-1pm in the 2nd floor IREB lobby.

The UNTSCP Class of 2021 appreciates your support, and they look forward to seeing you at the upcoming Diversity Fair!
