HSC Health is pleased to announce the availability of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster vaccination for eligible individuals beginning the week of October 11, 2021. The booster vaccination is available only to those that received Pfizer-BioNTech for their primary series (first two doses) and meet the following eligibility criteria.
• 65 years and older
• 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
• 18+ who work in high-risk settings
• 18+ who live in high-risk settings
Eligible individuals can receive their booster shot at least six months after they completed their Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 primary vaccine series. Those that received their COVID-19 vaccine from HSC Health likely received the Moderna vaccine and therefore are not eligible for a booster at this time.
We continue to monitor the FDA and CDC for new developments and will provide updates if a booster is recommended for additional populations. Those who received Moderna or Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccines need to wait for further guidance and recommendations from the CDC and FDA.
