Paid summer research opportunity for TCOM students- Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR)- Apply by March 11th

The TCOM Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) program is currently accepting applications for Summer 2022.

The MSTAR program is a 6-week educational experience in aging-related research with the guidance of top experts in geriatrics and aging. This is a paid summer research opportunity with a $1,000 stipend.
Students will be introduced to research and academic experiences early in their training that they might not otherwise have during medical school. Research projects are offered in clinical, basic, translational, or health services research relevant to older adults. Students will also have the opportunity to complete clinical shadowing in geriatrics across a variety of settings that can meet the requirements for the first year 2-day TCOM preceptorship.

Students will have the opportunity to submit their research to a professional conference, and – if accepted – are provided a $250 travel stipend.

• PROGRAM DATES: The planned program dates for 2022 are June 6th – July 15th.
• ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be TCOM students in good standing who will have completed Year-I by June 2022.
• APPLICATIONS: Completed applications forms are due Friday, March 11th, and require a transcript (official or unofficial). Applicant selection is competitive with up to 8 individuals selected.
