Dr. Ashok Kumar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Wayne State University, specializing in cutting-edge research on infectious diseases of the eye. His work focuses on understanding host immune responses to bacteria, fungi, and viruses, including the Zika virus, while developing innovative therapies to combat antibiotic resistance and improve ocular health. Dr. Kumar’s groundbreaking studies have been featured in leading scientific journals and supported by major NIH grants, positioning him as a leader in vision research and global health challenges.
