We are pleased to announce that Dr. Caroline Rickards, PhD., will present a seminar as part of the North Texas Research Institute (NTERI) Interdisciplinary Seminar Series (ISS).
Date: Thursday, April 10, 2025
Time: 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
Location: IREB 520
The seminar is entitled ” Pulsatile Perfusion Therapy: A Potential Treatment for Cerebral Hypoperfusion“.
Join us for a seminar featuring Dr. Caroline Rickards, an expert in cerebral and cardiovascular physiology. Dr. Rickards leads a dynamic research program aimed at understanding how the brain and heart respond to physiological stressors that compromise blood and oxygen supply. Her work addresses challenges ranging from trauma-induced hemorrhage and orthostasis to the physiological effects of exercise and electronic cigarette use.
Dr. Rickards’ Cerebral & Cardiovascular Physiology Laboratory investigates mechanisms of vital organ perfusion under stress and develops interventions such as resistance breathing, oscillatory perfusion therapy, and occlusive exercise to enhance cerebral tolerance to hypoperfusion.
All faculty, staff, students, and trainees are welcome to attend. We look forward to your participation in what promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking presentation.
