President Michael Williams sent this email on May 1, 2017:
Dear Team,
I am pleased to announce a few changes that I believe better position us as an organization to reach our 2020 Vision and align with the focuses of the FY2018 Strategic Plan.
Creating a sustainable people culture
Steven R. Sosland, Executive Vice President and Chief People and Performance Officer, has successfully led the UNTHSC cultural transformation and leadership development initiative since its 2014 inception. In October 2016, Steve stepped in and assumed responsibility for the Operations Division at a time of unexpected transition. He embraced Operations and I am grateful for his willingness to serve when and where needed. I’ve asked Steve to return his focus of creating our sustainable people culture, specifically in leading us in developing an effective and strategic succession planning program.
Building financial strength
Gregory R. Anderson, Executive Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer of UNT Health Science Center, is responsible for the overall financial well-being of the organization. Greg will assume the leadership responsibility for both the Operations Division and Information Technology Services. I believe realigning Operations and ITS under the administration of the CFO provides focus on revenue generating initiatives and will broaden the scope of our ITS team to an enterprise wide level.
Extraordinary Teamwork
Susan Ross, Executive Director of the Office of the President, continues to serve as the conduit and facilitator for our office. She will work alongside of me in planning and presiding over the Executive Cabinet meetings as well as serving as coordinator for the Presidential Councils.
Please join me in supporting Steve, Greg and Susan and all UNTHSC leaders who serve to define and produce the providers of the future, build our financial strength and create a sustainable people culture all through extraordinary teamwork.
Thank you,
Dr. Michael R. Williams
President
