Walk, enhance creativity and take an active break ? indoors OR outdoors!

Need a break? Mentally stuck? Walking not only helps keep you fit, it also enhances your creativity, according to researchers from Stanford University. And UNTHSC’s Founders’ Activity Center has a campus walking route for you.
Indoors:

  • A half-mile course through the EAD Atrium (you can check out the latest art exhibit in the Atrium Gallery for bonus stress-relief points) that takes the “tunnel route” through the EAD, RES and Lewis Library buildings before ending at the PCC.

Outdoors:

  • A 1.09-mile campus sidewalk route that takes you past the new UNTHSC Community Garden.
  • A 1.84-mile course through the shady Monticello neighborhood. You could stop for a picnic lunch or game of tennis at Monticello Park if you wish.
  • A 2.9-mile walk through Monticello and the 1920s-era homes of the North Hi Mount neighborhood. This route also passes Monticello Park.

So enjoy the sights and a calming break, regardless of the route you choose!
