Manager Minute – Webinar: Communication Skills (Part 2 of 2)

Body language, vocal tone, and the words we choose all contribute to the communication process. All three parts work in tandem to convey an effective message.

Our emotions and feelings are mainly interpreted through our non-verbal signals (body language and vocal tone) but our choice of words can often “make or break” a successful exchange.

In this session facilitated by Amanda Fisher with System HR’s Organizational Development and Engagement team, the overall goal is to better understand the impact of each part.

We will learn how to improve our ability to connect with others, effectively express what is meant, deal with challenging communication situations, and communicate more effectively at work and at home.

When: Tuesday, July 28, 2020 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

This is part two of two sessions on the topic of communication. Attending part one is not required to attend part two.

Learning Objectives:
• Review the basics of verbal and non-verbal communication and how to use each effectively.
• Identify mistakes made when interpreting body language, vocal tone, and word choice.
• Gain an understanding of the principles behind cooperative communication.
