Manager Minute – Have someone on your team who is struggling?

Do you have a member of your team who is struggling with stress, health, financial issues, legal issues, or any problem affecting the quality of their life? Alliance Work Partners is HSC’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider, and as a supervisor, you can encourage team members to get help by providing them this resource. Services are free, confidential, and available at any time.

Who is eligible?
• Employees, retirees, spouse, significant other
• Any household member, regardless of age or relationship, residing in employee’s home
• Children (until their 27th birthday) regardless of whether they live with employee

What kind of services are available?
Counseling
• Up to 6 sessions per person, per problem, per year.

LawAccess
• Online services available to create an online will, financial management tools, and credit monitoring.
• Referrals to other legal services, as needed

HelpNet
• Online access to information about relationships, emotional well-being, personal growth, etc
• Website courses on a variety of skill building topics that focus on communication, professional development, leadership, work/life balance, interpersonal skills, child and elder care.

WorkLife
• Sometimes knowing which services are needed is a big stumbling block. The EAP can help employees locate services by doing the research needed to help employees make their choice. An Intake Counselor will provide up to 3 possible options for the employee to explore more thoroughly.

All benefits can be accessed by calling 800-343-3822. They also have a teen help line at 800-334-TEEN. All of the services through Alliance Work Partners are available in Spanish, and they can translate into 150+ languages.
