“Kick Acidosis” Takes 1st Place at TCEP!

Congratulations to the SIMS (Student Initiative in Medical Simulations) Team, Kick Acidosis, for taking 1st Place in the “Sim Wars” Competition at the annual conference of the Texas College of Emergency Physicians (TCEP) in Austin this past weekend! TCOM students Brooke Beck, Emily Zakhary, Hannah Marvin, Landon Eggleston, and Erika Rudolph competed with other teams from Texas medical schools in a series of stations designed to test knowledge, critical decision-making, and psychomotor skills needed to care for patients in emergency situations. This is the second consecutive year that a TCOM SIMS Team has won the TCEP competition! This is a testament to the robust curriculum and dedication of our students and faculty. Thanks to everyone and Congrats again to Kick Acidosis!
