Re: HSC Updated COVID Guidelines

In our ongoing efforts to protect the health of our students, staff and faculty while remaining committed to our academic and clinical mission, HSC is adopting the following recommendations for both COVID positive test results and COVID exposures effective immediately.

A few reminders:

  • HSC students doing clinical rotations will need to adhere to the COVID guidelines of their respective clinical rotation site.
  • Human Resources continues to assist with ADA Accommodations as well as Flexible Work Agreements.
  • Any positive test results should be reported to the HSC reporting email at hsccovid@unthsc.edu. Be sure to include #hscsecure in the subject line. Accurate, positive counts help us understand the campus impact and help us with any confidential, direct-impact notifications.
  • HSC Health’sPriority Care and Student Health Clinics continue to offer first, second and third or booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. (Surgical, ear-loop masking is required in patient care areas within HSC Health.)
    – Faculty and staff can schedule an appointment for yourself or a member of your household for either the first, second or third COVID-19 vaccine dose in the Priority Care Clinic by calling 817-735-CARE.
    – Students can schedule an appointment in Student Health by calling 817-735-5051.

We know the past 22 months have been tough but the grit and tenacity of our HSC family is second to none and together, we will get through this pandemic. Until then, I sincerely appreciate your ongoing commitment to protecting yourself as well as those around you by social distancing, diligent hand hygiene and wearing a mask as recommended. Please keep in mind we are in a time of seasonal infectious diseases. If you are not feeling well or have a fever, please stay home.
