HSC Institutional Compliance: new policies effective this month

Institutional Compliance and Integrity
Safety, security and ethical behavior are key to being One University

Dear Team –

One of the keys to moving HSC forward in strength is the revision and streamlining of governance, particularly in policies and procedures. In February 2019, HSC began an initiative to review all HSC related policies to align with our current operations, laws and regulations. With great teamwork and collaboration from our institutional Policy Committee, UNT System Office of General Counsel and departmental Subject Mater Specialist, we are proud to share that our new and improved policies are now publicly available online via PolicyTech. This process started with over 400 policies that were reviewed for efficiency and carefully reduced by 80%. All new policies are effective as of January 1, 2021, and have a review cycle of every 2 years. Retired policies will remain visible until February 3, 2021, and will be archived.

Please note that the following policies are currently under review for legal sufficiency and will be approved soon.

  • Privacy
  • Conflict of Interest, Outside Activities and Nepotism
  • Information Security
  • Data Classification
  • Institutional Biosafety
  • Pre-Employment Hiring
  • Drug and Alcohol Free Campus
  • Performance Counseling and Discipline
  • Student Code of Conduct and Discipline
  • Clinical Peer Review
  • Digital Publishing
  • Public Information
