HSC Health COVID testing update

HSC Health is experiencing an increased demand for COVID testing as the highly transmissible Omicron variant spreads in our community. Due to limited HSC Health staffing and testing supplies, HSC Health must prioritize COVID testing and appointments in HSC Health Priority Care. Our goal is to provide access to care for our healthcare professionals while still maintaining available appointments for other acute needs like cough, cold and flu. Patients requesting COVID testing will be prioritized as follows:

1. Healthcare Professionals, HSC Health team members and HSC students, with symptoms
2. HSC campus team members who are 65+ years old or team members who are immunocompromised, with symptoms

All other HSC campus team members and family members will be directed to local community-based sites for COVID testing. HSC Health will reassess COVID testing availability after Friday, January 7, 2022.

The Texas Department of Health and Human Services reports they have exhausted their supply of monoclonal antibody treatments, with additional product not available until the first week of January.

HSC Health Priority Care will continue to make vaccines available and has COVID-19 first, second or third dose or booster and flu vaccinations available. Call 817-735-CARE to make your vaccination appointment.
