Healthy volunteers (ages 18-40) needed for muscle blood flow research study

“Exploring microcirculatory control in humans”

The University of North Texas Health Science Center and the Human Vascular
Physiology Laboratory are currently recruiting volunteers (ages 18-40) to examine if
small passageways located on the surface of blood vessels contribute to blood vessel
dilation in skeletal muscle of humans. We are recruiting men and women to take part in
this research study.

You must be:
• 18-40 years old
• Generally healthy
• Have not used tobacco/nicotine in the last 6 months (cigarettes, e-cigarettes, chewing
tobacco, nicotine patch/gum)

Study Requirements:
• Visit Human Vascular Physiology Laboratory at UNTHSC for testing on 2 separate
days; the first will be 1-2 hours, the second will be approximately 5 hours, for a total
study time commitment of ~7 hours.

• Participation in this study is voluntary, and if you are a student or employee of
UNTHSC your participation (or non-participation) in this study will in no way affect your
academic standing or employment.

Subjects will be compensated for their time and effort.
