Healthy males age 45 to 84 needed for a research study.

The Department of Family Medicine/OMM is recruiting healthy men for a study entitled “Effects of OMT on Gait Kinematics and Postural Control in Parkinson Disease”.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) on gait and balance for healthy adults and persons with Parkinson disease. Our long term goal is to create a protocol that improves gait and postural control, and helps to reduce falls in persons with PD. You are invited to participate as a control subject and your participation involves one visit which may last up to 5 hours. We are currently need healthy males between 45 to 84. During the visit you will be asked to perform balance tasks and may receive OMT. All testing is non-invasive, and compensation will be provided.

If you are interested in participating in this study, please contact the Project Coordinator at 817-735-0246 or 817-735-2177.
