Part of HSC’s commitment to the safety and compliance of our campus is adherence to the Texas Hazard Communication Act, Health & Safety Code, Chapter 502. Pursuant to the Act, 502.005(c), the institution must provide a workplace chemicals list so we can quickly inform our community of the hazardous chemicals we have and their general location.
Please refer to the two Oct. 13 emails sent from Environmental Health & Safety to all HSC Faculty & Staff for a spreadsheet that labs, clinics and facility shops can use to generate their areas’ hazardous chemicals list — these emails detail certain specifics (and exemptions) to be aware of.
The spreadsheet is due back to safety@unthsc.edu by October 30.
