Happy National Nurses Week!

As Nurses Week 2021 begins, it feels more important than ever to acknowledge all nurses of HSC for your dedication and expertise, and to thank you for your thoughtful care. Your hard work and efforts over the last year have not gone unnoticed.

You quickly adapted and learned new skills (as nurses so frequently do) as we transitioned from in-person to virtual care, you assisted HSC Health’s initiative to test patients for COVID-19, followed by impressive techniques to safely and effectively deliver COVID-19 vaccines to our patients, team members, students, families and friends. I applaud your creativity and innovative approaches to health care, often thinking outside the box for ways to provide safe, quality care.

You diligently taught students how to don and doff PPE and how to screen some of your most vulnerable patients, while remembering some of the most critical components of nursing – compassion and kindness. This past year has been especially challenging, and your resiliency has been inspiring to all.

I’m very proud of the diverse, talented and dedicated nurses throughout our organization. You truly are a remarkable team and I want to thank you again for all you do.

Always, but especially this week, HSC appreciates and honors you.
