Graduate Research Assistant position available

This position is in the Dept of Pediatrics and Women’s Health and provides support to Dr. Leslie Allsopp, PhD.

The focus will be on the Asthma 411 initiative and community collaborations to address pediatric disparities. It may include additional projects to address disparities in pediatric health and education outcomes.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:
ꞏ Contribute to rapid reviews of literature related to pediatric asthma and disparities
in other health and educational outcomes.
ꞏ Develop skills in the use of software for spatial analysis and mapping of health
outcomes and social determinants of health.
ꞏ Contribute to qualitative and quantitative data analysis to evaluate community-based pediatric health initiatives.
ꞏ Contribute to the preparation of reports for stakeholders.
ꞏ Participate in preparing abstracts for conference submission and manuscripts for
publication.
ꞏ Collaboration with community partners for outreach and data collection.
ꞏ Potential travel to the area school district for outreach and collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications:
ꞏ Currently enrolled UNTHSC student.
ꞏ Analytical and problem-solving skills.
ꞏ Interest in working directly with community partners for specific projects.
ꞏ Basic proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
ꞏ Strong time-management skills.
ꞏ Experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis is preferred.
ꞏ Interest in working directly with community partners for specific projects.
ꞏ Ability to travel to area school districts if needed.
ꞏ Must be available to participate in on-site or virtual weekly status updates.

Flexible schedule. Usually 10-15 hrs per week, but no more than 19 hrs.
