Graduate research assistant position available for an HPV vaccination project

GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION

JOB SUMMARY:
The University of North Texas Health Science Center is collaborating with UTHealth School of Public Health on a 1.5 year grant aimed at increasing HPV vaccination among ethnic-minority youth in multiple medically underserved areas (MUAs) across Texas. Project activities include adaptation and delivery of a social marketing campaign aimed at English and Spanish speaking parents, delivery of school-based vaccination clinics at public middle schools, and statewide education of school nurses to improve communication with parents about HPV vaccination. The position is 10 hours per week for ($15/hour).

Under general direction of the UNTHSC Principal Investigator, Dr. Erika Thompson, the Graduate Research Assistant will conduct activities to support the project. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices.

This position is located in Fort Worth, TX, but may require travel outside of the Fort Worth metroplex, such as Houston, TX.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.     Prepare vaccine consent packet materials for comprehensive adolescent vaccination clinics.
2.     Assist with implementation of adolescent vaccination clinics in public middle and high schools.
3.     Assists PI and senior research staff at partner agency (UTHealth in Houston) with data entry and program evaluation activities.
4.     Conduct literature searches and update evidence tables.
5.     Participates in weekly team meetings.
6.     Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulation and codes.
7.     Perform other duties as assigned.
8.     Bilingual preferred.
