Get involved with sustainability on campus

The Office of Sustainability within Facilities Management supports our university’s mission by encouraging our campus to adopt behaviors that are better for the health of our community and environment. We are currently looking for students, staff and faculty to serve on the Sustainability Committee. We meet every other month during the noon hour on either a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, then break into smaller subcommittees.

What does the Sustainability Committee do? The committee creates new initiatives and votes on projects with funds from the Sustainable Campus Fee. In the past, we have supported the Fort Worth Bike Share, founded the UNTHSC Community Garden, hosted the Earth Day Event, created a green labs program, subsidized public transit passes, etc.

Learn more about the committee and campus sustainability at unthsc.edu/sustainability, and email sustainability@unthsc.edu for more information.
