Gallup Engagement Survey launches September 27

The annual Gallup Survey will be launched to all campuses across UNT World September 27 and will close October 8.

While we are still in the middle of a global pandemic and continue to be mindful of our overall health and wellbeing in the midst of new strains of COVID 19, we also are figuring out what our lives look like in this new normal. Organizational Development & Engagement (ODE) is hoping that as our campuses open back up and reimagine how to serve our students, that team members are putting a focus on wellbeing and work. Through surveying on engagement, wellbeing is a major component that is measured.

Engagement Defined

Engagement is the extent to which someone is involved in, enthusiastic and psychologically committed to their work or work place. If you do not feel involved, if you are unenthusiastic, or don’t feel committed to your work, that can significantly impact your level of wellbeing. After all, we spend most of our waking hours at work, so it is important to focus our efforts on improving our work environment and reassessing our workplace experience to increase wellbeing. Engaged employees are twice as likely to be thriving in their overall lives and report having lower levels of stress, anxiety, depression and bad cholesterol.

The annual Gallup Survey will ask 12 questions that assess workplace needs, such as the need for growth, development and recognition. It’s not just about numbers on a report; the survey is simply a tool to help us gauge your wellbeing at work, so we can strive toward being a Best Place to Work.
