The Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) Region 3, housed at the Gibson D. Lewis Library, would like to invite you to join us for the next session of our monthly webinar series. Health Bytes is a monthly 1 hour series that focuses on topics of interest to clinicians, researchers, faculty, and information professionals.

Webinar Description: This webinar is designed to give new professionals a look at how to approach publishing and research as new librarians, faculty, and/or professionals. Starting with idea formation and running through finding collaborators, submitting to the IRB, submitting the first manuscript, rewrites and more. Dr. Blake will break down the writing, research and publication processes into steps designed to help new or accomplished professionals to more easily move through each area.

Presenter Description: Lindsay Blake, EdD, MLIS, AHIP is the Clinical Services Coordinator and a Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas.  As the Clinical Services Coordinator, Dr. Blake directs the library’s clinical programs in the hospital. She works with clinicians throughout the hospital, but focuses on resident education, physician, resident and nursing research, and patient care. Her work includes rounding with the Family medicine team, helping teach in the first- and second-year medical student Evidence-Based Medicine courses and providing literature searching a research courses where needed. She provides services to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) where she acts as the liaison for nursing research.

Dr. Blake has been busy the past year with graduation from Arkansas State University with a doctorate in Higher Education Administration in May, promotion to full professor in July, admittance to the AAHSL Leadership Fellowship in August, and just last month she was elected President-Elect of the South Central Chapter of MLA. Previously she has held many offices and worked extensively in the Southern Chapter of MLA and MLA committees and caucuses, serving as the Chair of the Awards Committee for the Research Caucus, an editor of the NAHRS Newsletter, Chair of the Leiter Lecture, and many years as a member of juries, committees, and caucuses/sections.
