Webinar Description: This webinar is designed to provide a general overview of the NNLM grant submission process, with a focus on assessing needs within a library, organization, or community, identifying potential funding sources, crafting a strong grant proposal, and implementing the project. Each of these steps will be examined by going through the development process for the NNLM grant-funded project Powering Clinics & Communities with PubMed: Building Library Awareness at a Safety-Net Hospital System. This session will also highlight practical tips for setting attainable project goals and timelines, connecting with potential partners, and addressing possible implementation challenges.

Presenter Description: Brandy Klug, MLS, MSEd is the Clinical Library Manager for Gibson D. Lewis Library at the UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Brandy oversees a team of three full-time staff from Gibson D. Lewis Library who provide library services for JPS Health Network as part of an agreement between the two institutions. The team coordinates with hospital staff and clinics to support research, quality improvement, and patient care through literature searching and rounding services. In addition, the team works to foster collaborations to create meaningful learning experiences for physician residents, nursing residents, clinicians, and hospital staff to support knowledge and skill acquisition pertaining to topic areas such as searching the biomedical literature and scholarly communications.

Prior to her work in a clinical setting, Brandy held positions in technical service areas including web development, electronic resources, cataloging, and acquisitions. She is very passionate about research and education, game-based learning, web design, instructional design, and usability testing. Her work has been featured in Code4Lib Journal, Texas Library Journal, The Charleston Advisor, Weave: Journal of Library User Experience, Journal of Electronic Resources in Medical Libraries, and Journal of Hospital Librarianship.
