Lane Nestman, 78, who worked at HSC for more than 30 years, passed away Oct. 16 in Dallas. She served the university as the director of purchasing and later the director of contract administration until retiring in 2015.
Nestman was born in Gadsden, Alabama, to Hoyed and Mary Ella Chambers. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama and a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.
She was an avid gardener, a committed volunteer and an active member of Mortar Board for more than 20 years.
Nestman is survived by her children, Jodie Buhse and Matt Nestman, and his wife, Aubrey; her grandchildren, Ben Bushe, Alex Buhse, Henry Nestman and Eleanor Nestman; and her great-grandchild, Elizabeth Buhse.
Her memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at St. James Episcopal Church in Dallas. It will be streamed for those unable to attend in person.
