Experience what accessibility means at UNTHSCs May 1 GAAD event

More than one billion people worldwide live with disabilities and impairments. That’s why people across the world celebrate and recognize Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)  every year in May to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about digital access and inclusion. The Division of Academic Innovation will host this year’s  campus GAAD event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thurs., May 1 in the MET Lobby. Guests will meet and learn from the North Texas Eye Research Institute (NTERI), Office of Disability Access, Gibson Lewis Library, and Apple representatives as they showcase campus services, and participate in simulations and demonstrations on various disabilities and assistive technologies.

The purpose of GAAD is to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about digital access and inclusion. Digital accessibility refers to the ability of people with disabilities and impairments to independently consume and interact with digital applications and content without barriers.
