EAD Fire Alarm Upgrade Begins July 1st

Hello Everyone,
Facilities is upgrading the fire alarm system in EAD beginning July 1st. This process will include installing new devices and removing old equipment. Installers will need access to most spaces in the building. They will take care to work around class and event schedules in shared spaces. They will also need to access offices and labs. They will install one device at a time, floor by floor, and then remove devices the same way after installation is complete.
Terry Rogers will contact lab and office occupants before work is set to begin on their floor. Please direct any questions or special scheduling concerns to him at terry.rogers@unthsc.edu. Installers will typically spend an hour per room as they go (more for large rooms with several devices). The project will be ongoing for approximately twenty weeks, beginning on the 1st floor and moving up.
The goal of the Facilities Department is to minimize impact on students and faculty throughout the process. Thank you for your understanding in this matter while we upgrade our systems to serve you better. If you have any questions or concerns please call X2181
