Dr. Thomas Cunningham – new Associate Vice President for Research Administration

After a long and interesting search process involving numerous well-qualified candidates and interviews, our team is pleased to announce that we have a new Associate Vice President for Research Administration at HSC. Joining the Division of Research and Innovation (DRI) team, starting September 1, is Dr. J. Thomas Cunningham as the Associate Vice President for Research Administration.

Dr. Cunningham is well known to many at HSC as a teacher, research investigator, leader and Regents Professor. He has served in several administrative roles as Interim Chair in Physiology and Anatomy, then as Interim Dean for GSBS, and most recently as the Associate Dean for Research in GSBS.

Dr. Cunningham will be stepping down from that Associate Dean role as he joins the DRI team. Dr. Cunningham will retain his faculty appointment in Physiology and Anatomy as well as his current research programs. In his new role, he will be fully-dedicated and engaged in working with the entire staff of DRI and with all of the colleges and departments, to enhance the research enterprise at our One University.

Please welcome Dr. Cunningham to this next adventure in his very productive and accomplished career at HSC. We all look forward to the perspective, energy and insights he will bring.

Sincerely,

Brian A, Gladue, PhD
