Dr. Albert Yurvati Named Emeritus Professor

To HSC Faculty, Staff and Students
From the HSC Office of the President

HSC Team,

I am pleased to announce that the UNT System Board of Regents approved the Emeritus Professor designation for our very own Dr. Albert Yurvati.

A skilled teacher and valued mentor to countless students, Dr. Yurvati is one of HSC’s most enthusiastic ambassadors. He graduated from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1986 and returned to TCOM in 2002, holding numerous leadership roles such as Chairman of Surgery and Director of Medical Education.

Dr. Yurvati and his wife Sharon continue to generously support HSC in several capacities including supporting future osteopathic physicians during their education and training. Most recently, the Yurvatis grew their legacy of giving once again through the creation of the Dr. Al and Sharon Yurvati DO/PhD Scholarship that is awarded annually to a student entering the DO/PhD program.

Though retired as a practicing surgeon, Dr. Yurvati continues to transform the lives of our students in the classroom and through his philanthropic endeavors. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Yurvati on his Emeritus Professor status, thanking him for his unwavering support for future generations of osteopathic physicians and steadfast support for his alma mater.

With appreciation,

Dr. Michael R. Williams
President
