Are you (or do you know) an individual who uses a lower-limb prosthesis?
A research study is being performed at the University of North Texas Health Science Center to measure walking symmetry and fall risk. You can participate in this study if you:
• are 18-95 years old
• have walked on your prosthesis for at least 1 year
• have limb loss on only one of your legs between your ankle and hip, and
• can walk independently without an assistive device (such as a cane or walker) for at least 5 minutes or 100 yards
This study only requires 1 visit that may take up to 2 hours. You will fill out surveys and perform short walking tests routinely used in clinical practice while using wearable sensors.
You may also be asked to document your falls every 2 weeks over a period of 6 months.
Participants will be compensated $50 for completing the study.
If you are a patient your participation, non-participation, or any responses you give will in no way affect the care that you receive at your clinic.
