Departments: Seeking to Hire Part-Time Student Workers?

The UNTHSC Career Center is hosting our semi-annual Student Worker Job Fair on Wednesday, January 24, from 11:00-1:00 in the MET Lobby area. If you are seeking to hire hourly student staff in the near future—Work-Study or non-Work Study eligible—please contact us to reserve a recruitment table and we will set one aside for your department. This event will be open to all UNTHSC departments as well as all currently-enrolled students. To RSVP for the event or for more information, please contact us at careercenter@unthsc.edu or call x5020.

We will start promoting the event to students throughout campus mid-month, once all students have arrived and are in full gear for the spring semester. If you plan to participate, please submit the following information no later than Friday, January 19:
• Job title(s) and number of positions available
• Description(s) pertaining to the positions for which you will be hiring
• Whether your positions are Work-Study or non-Work Study (or either)

We also strongly encourage you to post your student/hourly positions and internships throughout the year on our Career Solutions job board, which is accessible to all UNTHSC students and alumni. Along with the ability to post jobs directly to the site, this system also includes several helpful features as it pertains to your candidate search, such as seek out applicants by keyword (all currently-enrolled UNTHSC students have a Career Solutions account), review resumes and other candidate materials uploaded into their portfolios, and other features. The system even forwards your job listings out into the social media world, including campus Facebook and Twitter feeds, and can be duplicated in HSC Connect. Jobs listed on this site will also remain posted until filled. It is free of charge and easy to use. Go to the Career Center home page to get started: https://www.unthsc.edu/students/career-center/.

Also, if your position is work-study eligible, you will be required to post it to the Financial Aid work-study job postings page. For more information on posting and hiring work-study positions, please contact the Financial Aid office at x2505.
