Christopher DeClerk has been named director of Total Rewards and Information Services for UNT System Human Resources, which serves UNTHSC.
As director, DeClerk supervises Benefits, Compensation, Human Resources Information Services (HRIS) and the Records and Support Center.
DeClerk formerly was director of Total Rewards for Hypertherm, an employee-owned global company that designs and builds industrial cutting products for use in shipbuilding, oil and gas and other manufacturing areas. While at Hypertherm, DeClerk managed areas responsible for executive compensation, salary strategies and tactics, HRIS platform implementation and U.S. and global benefits including on-site health care services.
Prior to joining Hypertherm, DeClerk was director of Total Rewards for Hilti North America, an international manufacturing firm named the 15th Best Global Place to Work by Great Place to Work.
He also held several positions at RadioShack Corporation in Fort Worth when RadioShack was a $4.4 billion retail network with about 4,670 stores and 35,000 employees.
DeClerk received a bachelor?s degree in international business studies from Arkansas State University, a master?s degree in psychology from American Public University and an MBA and doctor of management degrees from the University of Phoenix. He has been an adjunct faculty member at American Public University and the University of Phoenix.
He holds senior professional certifications (SPHR, SPHR-SCP) from the Society for Human Resources Management, the world?s largest organization for human resources management. He also is a certified compensation professional (CCP) and global remunerations professional (GRP), and has several certifications in leadership and human resources management.
