RE: COVID-19 Vaccine & Funding Update

Last week, the CDC provided new clinical recommendations which include offering a second booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine to individuals over 50 years of age and/or those with certain immunocompromised conditions. For full details, visit COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters.

HSC Health is pleased to offer a second booster beginning April 6, 2022. As before, HSC Health continues to offer all doses of COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations. Students can call Student Health at 817-735-5051, while Faculty and Staff can call 817-735-2273 for an appointment.

We are aware that there are discussions over lack of ongoing federal funding that covers COVID-19 tests, treatment and vaccines. However, all Blue Cross Blue Shield HealthSelect of Texas medical plans will cover the COVID-19 vaccine at no cost to you. This includes first, second and booster doses. As new information becomes available, we will provide prompt updates. For additional or specific coverage questions, please contact your insurance carrier, or for the Health Select details, check here. Student vaccines include COVID-19 at no cost to the student.

Thank you for trusting us with your healthcare.
