Changes in Leadership-Physician Assistant Studies Program

We are pleased to announce the following changes in leadership for the School of Health Professions and the Health Science Center:

Dr. Hank Lemke has been selected to serve as Interim Director of the Center for Innovative Learning (CIL). The CIL was formed last fall as a result of merging the Center for Learning and Development and the Center for Online Education. The mission of the CIL is to advance educational excellence through faculty development, facilitation of innovative teaching and management of our Learning Management System CANVAS. Hank has the knowledge, skills and vision to assume this important leadership position.

Dr. Kim Meyer has been selected as Interim Chair and Program Director for the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. Kim recently joined the HSC team after serving as program director of the PA program at LSUHSC in Shreveport. Kim earned a baccalaureate and master?s degrees in PA studies with a clinical specialization in neurosurgery. She has doctoral training in leadership in higher education. Kim is exceptionally qualified to assume this position.

We would like to thank Hank for his many years of service to the PA program. Hank is the founding director, advancing the program from a class size of 12 students in 1999 to our current class size of 75 students. Under Hank?s leadership, the program transitioned from a baccalaureate to a master?s degree. The PA program is nationally ranked with licensure pass rates of 100% for almost all classes.

Please join us in congratulating Hank and Kim.
