Note from the President’s Office: Changes at HSC

From the HSC Office of the President

Dear HSC Students, Faculty and Staff,

As we look forward to continued innovation and growth at HSC, I want to let you know about a significant announcement.

The innovative and collaborative partnership that produced the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine in 2015 is continuing to evolve. Effective January 12, the medical school will continue solely as the TCU School of Medicine with TCU as the degree-granting university.

I am proud of the actions and efforts we put forward to bring an M.D. school to our community, which was the first program of its kind in Texas. Furthermore, I am grateful for the collaboration and leadership of TCU Chancellor Victor J. Boschini. Without the support, vision, leadership and commitment of HSC and our philanthropic, business and elected leaders, the school would not have been established.

Please know that HSC remains committed to ensuring that our students receive the best medical education possible. Fort Worth has two excellent schools training future physicians, both D.O. at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and M.D. at the TCU School of Medicine, and together we will continue to improve health care outcomes in Fort Worth and beyond.

Very Respectfully,
Dr. Michael R. Williams
