Career Readiness Month: Week 3! (Theme: Problem Solving)

Greetings HSC students! Time to celebrate Week 3 of “Career Readiness Month,” during which we will spotlight the Career Readiness Skill of Problem Solving. It probably goes without saying that if there has ever been a time where problem-solving, innovation, and resourcefulness has been at the forefront of our everyday lives—the year 2020 has certainly proven a time of “thinking outside the box” and beyond. The HSC definition of problem solving is three-fold:
• Exercises sound reasoning to analyze issues, make decisions, and overcome problems;
• Obtains, interprets, and uses knowledge, facts, and data in this process, and may demonstrate originality and inventiveness;
• Able to generate new ideas and creative thoughts.

Now more than ever, whether currently developing your career readiness skills, or actively exercising the application and articulation of these skills to prospective employers while in the throes of a job search, demonstrating the ability to creatively solve problems will remain of vital importance, regardless of your professional discipline.

Please join us again this week for two virtual events on the following days to “Level Up” your career in the name of Problem Solving!
