Career Center Drop-in Session: “Virtual Interviewing” – Thursday, July 16 @ Noon

Conducting a professional interview—whether it be for fulltime or part-time work, internship, residency, professional school, or another endeavor—can seem like a formidable task, especially if it is unfamiliar territory. To be fair, for those who have spent most of the last several years in school, the focus on academic excellence may mean that refining interviewing techniques and other forms of professional polish have not gotten the same amount of attention. What’s more, the world of employment as well as other forms of recruiting are now reliant upon virtual means for delivery of this critical activity, a prospect that presents additional considerations to address and master.

Come join us this Thursday, July 16 at noon to “Cool Off with the Career Center” as we engage in an open discussion on virtual interviewing, which will include general approaches to mastering the professional interview. Nothing overly formal, so come with your questions as well as any ideas to share! Discussion topics will center around the following participant learning outcomes:
• Interview communication skills and adjustments to the virtual realm
• Professional appearance and behaviors
• Interview questions to prepare for and expect
• Setting the stage: Technology and backdrop
• What to do after the interview—personal touches

This session will be delivered via Zoom Meeting, password required. To RSVP and request the Zoom link, please e-mail careercenter@unthsc.edu. We hope to see you there!
