Campus Winter Weather Closure: Beginning Feb. 2, 7 pm, through Feb. 3

HSC RED ALERT! issued on Wednesday, February 2.

For the safety of our students, employees and patients, HSC has declared a Winter Weather Closure beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, through Feb. 3. The weather forecast projects a wintery mix of rain, sleet, ice and snow Wednesday night continuing through Thursday afternoon. Hazardous road conditions are likely, and intermittent power outages are possible through the weekend.

Under the campus closure:

  • All classes are canceled.
  • HSC Health has canceled in-person appointments and will offer only virtual services.
  • Only employees essential to daily operations will report to campus. All other employees will be considered off duty until campus reopens. No remote work.
  • The library will close at 5 p.m. Feb. 2.
  • A decision about Friday, Feb. 4, will be made by 2 p.m. Thursday.

HSC leadership will continue monitoring weather and road conditions. You will receive more information, if necessary, as it becomes available through the HSC RED ALERT! Emergency Notification System.

Thank you, and please be safe.
