I am pleased to announce that Dr. Brian Gladue has accepted the position of UNTHSC Vice President of Research, a position he has held on an interim basis since January.
Dr. Gladue’s expertise and institutional knowledge enhance all aspects of our research initiatives. He joined UNTHSC in 2005 to establish the Office for the Protection of Human Subjects. He later headed the Office of Research Compliance and helped create the North Texas Regional Institutional Review Board (IRB), a collaboration with JPS that provides human subject protection review services. He has served as Executive Director of IRB since 2017.
Prior to his appointment as Interim Vice President of Research, Dr. Gladue served as Associate Vice President of Research Administration.
In this permanent role, Dr. Gladue will lead all oversight of research operations at UNTHSC, including the Office of Sponsored Programs, the Office of Research Compliance and the Office of Research Development and Commercialization. He also will support those research functions that are designated areas of strength across campus.
