About the event:
The event will take place at the UNT Health Science Center campus. A prominent seminar highlight will be a keynote address delivered by Rev. Dannielle Ayers, Justice Minister at Friendship-West. The seminar will address the unsettling reality that Black women face three to four times higher mortality rates than their white counterparts. Notably absent from reproductive justice work is the engagement of the faith community.
The primary objective of this summit is to foster a deeper understanding of the intersection between public health and the faith community regarding reproductive justice. The faith community’s involvement is pivotal in eradicating this crisis. In this context, reproductive justice signifies the basic human entitlement to control personal bodily autonomy, make decisions about parenthood, and raise children in secure and sustainable environments.
This seminar is open to all and comes at no cost. Attendees will be provided with lunch and the opportunity to earn continuing education credits. Please join us for a much-needed conversation around faith and reproductive justice. Feel free to share this information within your faith community and with your circles of influence.
