The Osteopathic Research Center is now accepting applications for its Summer Program in Clinical Research for first-year TCOM students (Class of 2026). The program will run from June 5 through June 23, 2023.
Program activities involve: (1) Didactic sessions on clinical research design and implementation of patient-centered studies; (2) Journal club sessions to critically evaluate research studies published in major medical journals; (3) Utilization of data from the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS); (4) Instruction in use of the IBM SPSS Statistics Software to analyze NAMCS data; and (5) Student data analysis and presentations involving NAMCS to answers research questions generated by student groups.
There are no tuition costs or other fees for the program. Institutional resources are also provided at no cost, including readings in Canvas, Health Sciences Library materials, and the IBM SPSS Statistics Software. Students are responsible for acquiring the required or optional textbooks.
