Anatomy faculty candidate, Dr. John Polk, Professor, Univ. Illinois – Champaign-Urbana, to present “Bone, Biomechanics, Health and Performance” on January 9th at 3 pm in LIB 110

Dr. John Polk is interviewing for a faculty position in the UNTHSC Center for Anatomical Sciences. Dr. Polk is a Full Professor at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with joint appointments in Anthropology and Biomedical & Translational Sciences. Dr. Polk’s research focuses on human locomotor biomechanics and the neurological, skeletal, physiological and adaptive implications of evolutionarily important changes in locomotor behavior (i.e., bipedal walking, endurance running).

Dr. Polk will present an overview of his research program during a seminar at 3 pm in LIB 110 on Thursday, January 9th. Coffee and cookies will be provided.
