The Division of Academic Innovation (DAI) invites you to join the second session of our AHSE Summer Series to get started with your whole health and well-being.

Session Overview: Join us for this interactive learning activity, where we will discuss the benefits of building nutrition skill power to improve health and enhance resilience.  

 

Learning Objectives: 

Describe the benefits of healthy eating. 

Explore culinary skills to optimize nutrient density. 

Discuss strategies to practice mindful eating. 

 

Speaker Bio: Debbie Gillespie is one of the first International Board of Lifestyle Medicine certified registered and licensed dietitians with over 25 years of experience across a broad spectrum of dietetics including clinical, oncology and cardiovascular research, renal, health promotion and public health education. She earned her B.S. in Dietetics from Miami University, an M.S. in Medical Dietetics from Saint Louis University, and an EdD in Health Professions Education from A.T. Still University. She is also a certified health coach and faculty for Wellcoaches with advanced International Coach Federation training.  She served as the founding Interim Chair of the Department of Lifestyle Health Sciences, Program Director for the Graduate Certificate in Lifestyle Health, and has been a leader in providing nutrition, emotional intelligence, culinary, and lifestyle medicine education at HSC. She enjoys traveling and learning about different countries and cultures and is passionate about nutrition education and health coaching.
