Michael L. Smith, PhD, was recognized as a ?Top Walker? in the American Heart Association?s 2015 Tarrant County Heart Walk for raising more than $1,000 for the AHA. Smith, a Professor in the Institute for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases, also was instrumental in UNHTSC receiving the AHA?s Fit Friendly Gold Status, one of only 21 local organizations earning this designation.
